Description

These colorful, bite-sized spirals pack a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, creamy, and savory flavors—all wrapped in a soft tortilla. They are quick to prepare, make-ahead friendly, and ideal for just about any occasion, from holiday gatherings to casual lunches.

The combination of rich cream cheese, tangy feta, sweet dried cranberries, and fresh green onions makes this an irresistible appetizer that looks elegant and tastes even better.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pinwheels

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 4 large flour tortillas (8 to 10 inches in diameter)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Filling: Place the softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Use a spoon or hand mixer to beat until smooth. Add the crumbled feta cheese, dried cranberries, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until all the ingredients are evenly combined, creating a thick, creamy mixture.
  2. Spread and Roll: Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous, thin layer of the cream cheese mixture evenly across the tortilla, leaving about half an inch of space around the edges. Roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  3. Chill: Wrap each rolled tortilla snugly in plastic wrap and place them in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Chilling helps firm up the filling and makes slicing much easier.
  4. Slice into Pinwheels: Once chilled, remove the plastic wrap and use a sharp knife to slice each roll into 1-inch pinwheels. Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter.
  5. Garnish (Optional): Garnish the finished pinwheels with chopped parsley for a fresh and colorful touch before serving.

Notes

Tips for Success

Use Softened Cream Cheese: Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for easier mixing and smoother filling.

Tight Rolling Is Key: Roll the tortillas as tightly as possible to keep the filling from falling out when sliced.

Chill Before Slicing: Don’t skip the chilling step—cold pinwheels hold their shape better and are easier to cut cleanly.

Make Ahead: These pinwheels can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge until ready to serve.
